Customized Energy Solutions (CES) has been closely watching developments in rural microgrids in India since 2014.
After interacting with many stake-holders across the industry over last couple of years, it was realized that we would need to touch upon a lot of gaps in the industry. The problem areas are not only technical but also social and business related like bill collection, linking of electrification to economic development, aggregation of demand from small micro-grids developers for better product options and negotiations. Vinayak is a Chartered Financial Analyst with experience in financial modelling, analysis, and business development. His work includes performing financial analysis and developing proposed price structures for power projects. He was involved in valuing and structuring multimillion dollar deals in Power and Aircraft industries. His presence in the team boost our capabilities of funding of project and also financial report and benchmarking of microgrids.
He is working on optimum sizing and designing of the solar and wind microgrids and is also developing a charge controlling algorithm ro optimize life of lead acid batteries. Mr Sen has over 30 years of professional experience in management positions in leading battery manufacturing companies.
Akshay is the one who makes remote monitoring possible under this initiative. He is working on ground testing different monitoring systems, training the microgrid installer and also doing the job himself. He always brings valuable inputs for the team from the sites and is always raring to go for more sites. Akshay is also dynamically helping the team in testing of the portal and he adds a lot of value and energy to the team.
Vipul is responsible for hardware development,installation and integration. His research experience focuses area of Energy, Power electronics, Optimization & Data Analytics.
Harsh Thacker, the lead for the innitiative, has a mix background of working in distribution utility network as an engineer and as strategy & market research consultant for energy and power industry. His diverse background is helping the team in blending business and technology innovations and ideas. He is co-ordinating efforts of the MICRO team and is forefront in reaching out to various stakeholders.
