Micro initiative by CES addresses the fundamental challenges faced by the developers and funding agencies by creating an ecosystem to make micro-grids sustainable and economical.
Through this initiative have real time monitoring system installed at micro-grids and analytics of the archived data can be used for optimizing the life of an asset (especially batteries), Predicting failures in advance and Deriving the right cost to make such micro grids sustainable.
Customized Energy Solutions (CES) has been closely watching developments in rural microgrids in India since 2014.
After interacting with many stake-holders across the industry over last couple of years, it was realized that we would need to touch upon a lot of gaps in the industry. The problem areas are not only technical but also social and business related like bill collection, linking of electrification to economic development, aggregation of demand from small micro-grids developers for better product options and negotiations. Hence, we decided to come up with a holistic service platform called MICRO.
In addition to the increased database, Microgrid developers will get Technical Consulting as well as monitoring of their assets and BMS system situated at the site. Also, Microgrid Modelling, consolidated analysis of already monitored microgrids and exposure to Social Funding are few other benefits for you to help in growing the business.
As a funding agency, you will be able to foresee the potential projects to be funded and will get funding request from developers/ manufacturers to be able to implement their solution in the microgrid. In addition, performance reporting of already funded will also be provided to you.
Biggest advantage to technology provider is the access to larger and focused customer base. In addition, you will get Performance Evaluation of your equipment based on customer feedback and failure reporting. Also, you will be informed about upcoming projects which will help in developing solutions accordingly.
Communication and hardware provider will have access to focussed customer base with performance evaluation in the form of customer feedback and failure reporting to be able to improve the solution for catering larger customers.
As a regulator, you will het holistic view of market and various developments in this environment. This will be an important input structuring policies and regulations in microgrid environment.
Dr. Satish is the source of enthusiasm to MICRO. He is the ex-Secretary Coordination in the Cabinet Secretariat Government of India. Proir to this he was Secretary Renewable Energy and DG (Defence Acquisition), in the Ministry of Defence.
Dr. Rahul Walawalkar is leading conceptualisation of this initiative. He has served as an expert evaluator for US Department of Energy for various smart grid and energy storage demonstration projects in US during 2009-12. In 2012, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission(MERC) nominated him...
